WE BUILD Community

SME Interest Group

The WE BUILD SME Interest Group connects the technical and policy development of the European Business Wallet with the everyday realities of European SMEs. It creates a learning community in which SMEs, business intermediaries, authentic sources, technology providers, policymakers and researchers can understand emerging wallet capabilities, test their relevance against real business journeys, identify barriers to adoption and jointly develop practical recommendations for trusted digital business across Europe.

Value for the EU SME-community

Understanding

Reduce the knowledge gap between digital-identity specialists and ordinary businesses and their advisers by making the European Business Wallet understandable in business language: what changes in onboarding, representation, tax, invoicing, banking and cross-border expansion? How can it help you?

Empowering

Give SMEs an early voice before implementation patterns become fixed. Surface adoption barriers early: cost, usability, integration effort, trust, legal certainty, data availability, mandates, support and incentives.

Connecting
the ecosystem

Build cross-border peer learning: the same SME journey can be compared across Member States. And create reusable knowledge for Chambers of Commerce, business registers, accountants, ERP providers, banks, clusters and SME associations that support thousands of SMEs.

About the group

The purpose of the SME Interest Group is to bring together SMEs, business organisations, public authorities, technology providers, researchers and subject matter experts to investigate the impact of the European Business Wallet (EBW) on European SMEs and to contribute practical business perspectives to the evolution of the EUDI ecosystem.

The group gets together through periodic digital and live value tracking sessions in which WE BUILD will bring together multiple stakeholders in the value chain. This approach allows to systematically create multiple-stakeholder groups to define the collective value case, create transparency with regards to common constraints & conditions and determine calls-to-collaborate for parties involved.

In these sessions WE BUILD participants will also showcase the latest advances in SME scenarios, provide visibility into practical applications, and offer a platform for the exchange of views on the upcoming digital landscape.
